If Climbing Kilimanjaro is at the top of your Bucket List for 2018, now is the perfect time to start planning your expedition to the Roof of Africa.
Whether you decide on a Private Kilimanjaro Expedition, a scheduled group tour, or a charitable event, your journey to the top of Africa’s highest mountain is sure to be a memorable one, but if you are looking for a truly magical experience, you should consider climbing Kilimanjaro under a full moon, when the weather is (usually!) good, the skies are clear, and you can ditch your headlamps and summit under the moonlight.
I would like to say that climbing Kilimanjaro under a full moon is romantic, but when you are contending with temperatures of minus 10 degrees and the effects of high altitude, romance is the last thing on your mind! But that said, the final push to the top of the mountain does seem a little easier under the soft glow of the full moon, and so it’s definitely worth considering when booking your trip of a lifetime.
If you plan on climbing Kilimanjaro under a full moon in 2018, here’s the dates you should be looking out for… and there’s a couple of double-bubbles:
