Climb Kilimanjaro: Full Moon Dates 2019

With a new year finally upon us, now is the perfect time to start planning your 2019 holidays, and if this year is going to be the year when you finally cross ‘Climb Kilimanjaro’ off your Bucket List, why no do so under a full moon.

Full Moon Climb Kilimanjaro

Climbing Kilimanjaro is a once in a lifetime experience and so it makes perfect sense to do it right. You could save a few bucks by booking a cheap and cheerful 5-Day Marangu Route Tour, but after day 2, you’ll be feeling anything but cheerful! Kilimanjaro is an experience that should not be rushed, and by doing so, your chances of reaching the summit are greatly reduced, so take it easy, take it slow, and book a Kilimanjaro expedition of at least 7, preferably 8 days, and make your journey to Uhuru Peak an unforgetable one.

Climbing Kilimanjaro Under a Full Moon

Hiking Africa’s highest mountain is a magical experience at any time of the year, but it is even more so under a full moon. With the moonlight to guide the way, there is no need for headlamps during your summit attempt, and this makes for an altogether more relaxed ascent. The skies are usually clear during a full moon, and while that does lead to colder temperatures, the midnight sky is nothing short of spectacular.
